Stumbled upon this lovely pictures (see my post ‘Am I nostalgic or old-fashioned?’ in a shop in Rotterdam. They have great and amazing things from paper-art to books, stamps and gifts. They give workshops too: Think I’ll start a category ‘beauties’!!

Featuring…. fabrics!

October 11, 2010

Kate’s birthday is coming up so a new project is about to start: the birthday dress. Yesterday was a big fabric-market in Rotterdam with lots of fabric to choose from, how confusing! Kate wanted a orange dress but everything she liked was shiny and glittery. Maybe I had to go alone….. Anyway, after some delibiration I ended up with baby ribcord in red for Kate. The dotted fabric is for a bag I want to make with a pair of handles I bought when we visited Strasbourg last summer holidays. The black flower is picked by Kate. I hope to show you the results soon!!!

Couldn’t resist the fabric you see on the photograph underneath, good excuse for a new dress, it’s some kind of satin. Probably a more long term plan….

“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower” is a quote from Camus I read last week.

Well, last weekend and this one, we enjoy the wonderfull weather and go outside to the park or our roofterrace, Yippee!

She & Shoes sequel

October 8, 2010

Autumn has arrived so it’s time for new shoes for our little girl.

Since she’s very picky in what she wants to wear I let her choose herself (with a little guiding): It is purple!!!!

See for more shoes from her collection: She & Shoes (
