Marvels in my mailbox

Ageeth Mooij van het blog Ogenzalf scoorde op een vlooienmarkt op wat drukletters en dacht aan mij! Vorige week vond ik haar mooie pakketje in de bus met een ‘g’, ‘a’ en ‘e’ in fraaie typografie. Ik maakte er in photoshop zelf een ‘s’ en ‘k’ bij. Dankjewel Ageeth!

Little gems

Vorige week verjaarde oma en maakte ik voor haar sieraden van haar kleinkinderen: Kate als ketting en Jack als broche. Gehangen op een zelfgemaakt borstbeeld van papier en ze kan letterlijk met haar kleinkinderen pronken. Ook maken?

1. Zoek een goede afbeelding

2. Zet deze om in zwart wit en verhoog helderheid en contrast en print het (ca. 15-18 cm hoog).

3. Trek het over op een vel krimpplastic met watervaste stift. De contouren met een dikke punt en de overige lijntjes met een dunnere punt.

4. Maak voor de hanger een gaatje met de perforator en krimp het in de oven.

5. Kleur achterzijde naar wens met acrylverf.

Maak af met brochespeld en/of touwtje met kraal. Het papieren borstbeeld vond ik op Pinterest.

Last week it was grandma’s birthday and I made her jewellery of her little gems, Kate as nacklace and Jack as broche. Put on a necklace display and now she can show off with her grandchildren. Wanna make this too?

1. Look for a good picture

2. Make it black&white, enhance clarity and contrast and print it (about 15-18 cm high)

3. Trace it on a sheet of shrink foil with black marker. Use a thin point for inner lines and a thick one for the contours.

4. Make a hole for the necklace and shrink it on the oven.

5. Colour the back in the colours you want with acryllic paint.

Attach a broche pin and/or a cord with a bead. I found the paper necklace display on Pinterest.

Featuring: eyes!

Pakpapier met oogjes in mijn (momenteel) 3 favoriete kleuren: wit, zeegroen/turqoois en zwart. De zwarte is mijn favoriet. In welk papier zouden jullie het liefst een cadeautje krijgen?

Gift for fashionista’s!

Kadootje voor een vriendinnetje van 11; ik zocht een fashionista op het net, werkte dit bij in Adobe Illustrator, printte het uit, plakte het op karton, knipte het uit, plakte een zwart karton op de tas, schreef de naam van de birthdaygirl erop en stak er een giftcard in. Meisje van 11 is blij!

A gift voor an 11- years old girlfriend; searched for a fashionista on the net, edited it in Adobe Illustrator, printed it, glued it on cardboard, cut it out, glued a piece of black cardboard on the bag, wrote her name on it and put in a giftcard. The girl is happy!

Present(s) time

Hebben jullie ook zoveel verjaardagen deze maand? Wij grossieren erin en hebben dus ook altijd een voorraadje inpakpapier. Maar nu greep ik mis, wat doe je dan last minute????? Hatsikidee, van een rol patroonpapier en mijn stempels maakte ik mijn eigen papier. Kadootjes geven vind ik zo leuk!

This month we truly have an birthdayparty-frenzy. I always have a stock of giftpaper but now somehow it’s all used without noticing. What do you at the last minute???? Well, I took some patternpaper and my stamps and voilá, here’s my custommade giftpaper. O, how I like to give presents!!

Hello broche!

Ja, het blijft tobben maar krijg nu goed resultaat met krimp folie (of plastic). Deze broche is voor Vanessa, ze verjaarde gisteren.

Yes, it’s a bit of a struggle but now the results with shrink plastic (or foil) are okay. This broche is for Vanessa, she had her birthday yesterday.

Doll Jack & doll Kate

Last year for the birthday of my father-in-law I made a doll of Jack and of Kate. First I manipulated an image by enlarging the heads and more of those tricks. Then I printed them on transfer-paper and put them on fabric with an iron. Then I sewed them on another piece of fabric, filled it was balls of cotton and voilá. Unfortunately I ruined a piece of carpet in our bedroom cause I wanted to iron it quickly (dumb, dumb). I took no pictures of the result but here are the original digital dolls!
