Lasercut Xmas Card

De lasercutter staat weer in de woonkamer en ik wil aan de slag met kerstkaarten. Hier een eerste ontwerp om uit te voeren: gekleurde kaarten met uitgelaserde maretak en witte kaarten met gekleurd inlegvel (zoals goud glitter). Het volgende ontwerp zit al in mijn hoofd.

The lasercutter is back in our living, I want to make xmas cards with it. Here’s a first design to execute: coloured cards with lasered mistletoe and white cards with a coloured inlay (like gold glitter). The next design is already in my head.

Interior and dessin again

Struinend op Behance via Pinterest stuitte ik op dit beeld, een aha-moment want dit interieur doet me denken aan een dessin dat ik deze herfst maakte. Deze kleuren hiervan heb ik nu gematcht met dit beeld en ik vind um super! Ik ga meer met deze ‘bril’ naar interieurs kijken want ik had al eerder een match.

Stumbling on Behance through Pinterest I came across this image, an aha-moment cause this interior reminds me of a dessin I made last year. I changed the colours of this dessin to match this image and I love it! I hope to discover more of these matches on the internet.

Momenteel ben ik enorm druk met de finale van The Explorer Issue van het JFW Magazine, een tijdschrift waarvan ik de art direction verzorg. Komende week gaat dit nummer naar de drukker. Wat ben ik blij met het resultaat, er staan weer mooie artikelen in; prachtige juwelen, fashion wannahaves, spectaculaire horloges en interessante kunst- en travelstories. Er komt altijd een engelstalig en nederlandstalige editie uit, volg het via jfwmagazine.com. In deze post een showcase met de cover en spreads uit het laatste (lente)nummer.

At this moment I’m busy finalising The Explorer Issue of the JFW Magazine, I’m in charge of the art direction. The artwork of this edition goes to the printer this week and I’m very happy with the result. It has beautiful articles; lucious jewellery, fashion wannahaves, spectaculair watches and interesting art- and travelstories. There’s always a UK-, INT- en NL edition, follow it on jfwmagazine.com. Busy in between

Februari was een drukke maand, nieuwe baan en een mooie klus erbij, eigen werk deed ik tussendoor. Ik maakte een poster en heb daarvoor veel mooie landschapsbeelden van het net verzameld. Voor de lasercut maakten we weer nieuwe plannen en voor een speciaal iemand die veel knuffels verdiend maakte ik een illustratie die ik scande en met Illustrator bewerkte en inkleurde. De patronen die ik maakte hebben als thema ‘lines’ en het kleurenpalet kwam tot stand met pantonekleur Marsala.

It was a busy February, new job and a great freelance assignment, free work came in between. I made a poster and collected some beautiful landscape pictures. We made new plans for our lasercutmachine and for a special person I made an illustration with lots of hugs. The surface patterns have the theme ‘lines’ and the colours came together with pantone Marsala.

Paper hangers

Een saaie hoek in onze kamer had een beetje aandacht nodig. Op deze blog vond ik al een leuk vouwding en herinnerde me ook een toffe op de site van de Krantenkappers! Tot slot maakte ikzelf nog een soort driehoekig ding en voilà! Nu moet er bij ons nodig worden gewit dus heb ik een zelf gemaakt behang achter de foto geplakt. A boring corner of our living room needed some attention. On this blog I found something nice and easy to fold. I also remembered the Krantenkappers, they designed a wonderfull paper hanger! Finally I made a triangle-like hanger myself and voilà! I have to admit that this corner also needs some white paint on the walls so I used a self designed pattern as background. New: Design sheet

Om mijn werk te promoten wilde ik een overzicht maken van mijn werk. Iets dat ik vanaf nu elke maand ga doen. Omdat mijn zoon op een lyceum voor beeldend vorming zit vroeg ik hem welke van mijn layouts zijn favoriet is. Hier het resultaat. Willen jullie deze voor mij delen op facebook of pinterest?!

To promote my work I wanted to make an overview of my work. Something I’ll do every month from now on. Since my son is attending a college for design I’ve asked him which of the layouts I made is his favourite. And here’s the result. Maybe you like to share it for me on facebook or pinterest?!

Paul Lowe maakte een Sweet Paul voor kinderen, ik vind het vooral een lust voor het oog. Bekijk knutsel-, kook- en shopideetjes en de proefjes van professor Figgy. In deze issue ook filmpjes!!! Petje af voor Paul, hij creëerde zijn eigen droombaan!

A great shop in town!

Hier een screendump van een site die ik heb ontworpen voor een heel leuke winkel in hartje Rotterdam: Sluijter & Meijer. Op iedere pagina zie je Rita Hayworth, persoonlijk icoon van mevrouw Meijer. Hun koopwaar komt uit alle windstreken: van China tot de VS, echt de moeite waard om eens te gaan kijken in hun shop, niet alleen die prachtige (; )) site!!!!!
