Happy news!

Kijk hier, mijn blog staat genoemd in Margiet 8!!!! Jee, dat moeten we vieren, deze week zal ik een Give-Away organiseren. Dat moet ik nog even uitdenken maar ik heb genoeg leuks om kado te doen, tot snel!!

What to do on a cold day

On a cold day with lots of snow you;

-first make a snowman (sneeuwpop in dutch)

– second you go inside and read your favourite book (mine is Maigret by Simenon)

-and third enjoy the work you did decorating the cristmastree

Old traditions: Sinterklaas

We have a lot of traditions at Sinterklaas-time. Above is Kate as ‘Zwarte Piet’. She has a ‘Stoomboot’ on her head, made at kindergarten. You can see how much she likes it that I want to take her picture (“again??!?”).

Underneath the ‘surprise’ Jack made for a classmate. All the children from his class put a piece of paper, with their name on it, in a big box and then they had to draw a paper each: for that person you had to make a surprise, relating to their hobbies, hide a present within and make a little poem (‘rijm’). Jack made a golden microfone and got a car in return (“Mum, I don’t even like cars”, he’s getting picky I’m afraid…)

It’s cold outside

It’s getting cold outside (at night it’s already freezing and up north in Holland it snowed…) but that’s so refreshing. We went outside on the walking-bike I showed you yesterday (the 2 wheels) and stranded in a playgarden nearby. Great to sit on a swing together and sing some songs!
