Pressed Pattern

Yeey, het JFW Magazine heeft één van mijn patronen gebruikt als promotie van mijn werk, super! Het is gebruikt in een artikel over wannahaves, als achtergrond maar ook in de grote cijfers op iedere pagina. Mijn patroon plaats ik hieronder in lage resolutie.

Yeey, the JFW Magazine used one of my patterns as free promotion of my work, how great is that? It’s used in an article with wannahaves as background and also in big numbers on each page. I show my pattern below in low resolution.

Transparant print

Er zit een prachtpatroon in mijn hoofd, gemaakt met stempels die dan zo mooi transparant elkaar overlappen. Meestal stempel ik met acrylverf maar heb nu inmiddels een paar stempelkussens waarmee de afdruk transparanter wordt. Hier de eerste probeersels, ik maakte een stempel van het blad van de Monstera deliciosa; de gatenplant.

I’m dreaming of a beautiful transparant dessin. Most of the time I stamp with acryllic paint but with an inkpad you get a more transparant print. Here the first attempts, I made a stamp of the leaf of the Monstera deliciosa; the fruit salad plant.

Merry and Bright

Hier de wand die ik mij toe-eigende en die zich gestaag uitbreidt met prints van eigen hand en ander moois. Gisteren bezocht ik de blog Zilverblauw waar Anki een poster plaatste –Merry and Bright– die je kunt bestellen of printen. Die heb ik meteen toegevoegd aan de wand. Je kunt een foto van de opgehangen poster mailen naar Zilverblauw, op een speciale pagina van deze blog staan alle inzendingen. Ik mail de mijne natuurlijk ook! Iedereen al in de kerststemming?

See here, my wall with prints of my work and of other beauties. On the blog of Anki from Zilverblauw I found this great Merry and Bright-poster which you can order or print yourself. So I did and it fits my wall perfectly don’t you think? On the Zilverblauw-blog is a special page with images of the poster in many interiors, I’ll send mine too! Is everybody in the right xmas mood yet?

My Roman Lady

Vorige week bezochten we het Rijksmuseum van Oudheden in Leiden (neem een kijkje via deze link). Letterlijk een ‘trip down memory lane’ want ik groeide op in de buurt van Leiden. Geïnspireerd door een ijzeren kopje maakte ik thuis deze pentekening.

Last week we paid a visit to the Museum of Antiquities (take a peek here). Inspired by a little iron head I made this ink illustration at home.

Paper hangers

Een saaie hoek in onze kamer had een beetje aandacht nodig. Op deze blog vond ik al een leuk vouwding en herinnerde me ook een toffe op de site van de Krantenkappers! Tot slot maakte ikzelf nog een soort driehoekig ding en voilà! Nu moet er bij ons nodig worden gewit dus heb ik een zelf gemaakt behang achter de foto geplakt. A boring corner of our living room needed some attention. On this blog I found something nice and easy to fold. I also remembered the Krantenkappers, they designed a wonderfull paper hanger! Finally I made a triangle-like hanger myself and voilà! I have to admit that this corner also needs some white paint on the walls so I used a self designed pattern as background. Icecream colours

Vanavond ga ik met een vriendin een lekker ijsje eten in de beste ijssalon van Rotterdam. Op pinterest kwam ik deze foto tegen, wow; roomijs tussen 2 macarons! Ik kan niet wachten tot het zover is!!!! En wat dacht je van de kleurcombinatie met oker? Het is de schaduw in de macaron.

Tonight I’m having an icecream-date in the best icecreamshop of Rotterdam. On pinterest I came across this photo, wow; icecream in between 2 macarons! I can’t wait for it!!!! And what about the colourcombination with ocre? It’s the shadow in the macaron.

Yellow colour combination

Een nieuwe kleurcombinatie is in de maak. Met geel! Ik zoek nog steeds naar een wat meer brutale combinatie dus beschouw deze combinatie als ‘uitproberen’. Ik wil niet meteen in het grafische vervallen met voornamelijk zwart en zoek ook een combinatie met bladgroen, meer zal volgen!!

A new colourcombination is evolving. With yellow! I’m still searching for a more bold combination so see this one as a try-out. I don’t want to make it to graphical with mainly black and I want a combo with leavegreen, this is to be continued!!

A little bit Billie?

Goeie vinding dat acrylpapier; lekker laagdrempelig oefenen. Mijn lief noemt haar Billie (Holiday). Watermerk is ter beveiliging, sorry!
